Celebrating Bendigo Breweries' Success at the 2023 AIBA Awards

The Australian International Beer Awards (AIBA) is an esteemed competition that recognises excellence in brewing worldwide. This year, the competition received entries from over 400 breweries across 21 countries. The Bendigo region proudly showcased its brewing prowess, with two local breweries securing medals.

East Bendigo Brewing Company (EBBC) has once again demonstrated its commitment to its craft by claiming a gold medal for Brooke's IPA, one of its flagship beers. EBBC won bronze medals for their core range beers, Brooke's Pale Ale, EBBC XPA and 40 Access Session Beer. The brewery also won a bronze medal for its decadent EBBC Rum Barrel-Aged Imperial Stout.

Another standout brewery from the region was Heathcote's Palling Bros Brewery.Β Pallings struck gold with their Smolder Smoked Helles, a German lager with a touch of smoky goodness. The beer showcases the brewery's willingness to experiment with flavours while staying true to classic beer styles. They also received a bronze medal for their workhorse, Off The Bat Lager, an easy-drinking beer everyone can enjoy.

The AIBA Awards have once again shone a spotlight on the exceptional breweries in the Bendigo region. Breweries throughout Victoria fared well, including many featured at Bendigo On The Hop. Bendigo Beer is happy when independent Australian breweries win medals, but we are exceptionally proud when they come from the local region. Congratulations!
